5 Tips on How to Have a Productive Morning

There’s nothing we love more than a productive morning. How great do you feel after ticking things off written, or mental, to do list before 12 pm?! It’s taken a while for me to learn how to master productive mornings and I’m still by no means perfect. I am, however, proud of my progress and I’ve mastered a few tricks that could help you to become more productive in the AM.

Plan Your Outfit, Lay it out.

It doesn’t matter where you’re going or if you’re going anywhere at all. Step one to a productive morning is planning your outfit and laying out your clothes the night before. The reason I say it doesn’t matter if you’re going anywhere is that getting yourself ready first thing in the morning is a great way to start your day. If you’re changing first thing you’re definitely more likely to stay out of bed and start getting shit done. It’s also great as choosing an outfit can take a lot of time and cause some serious stress. Productive mornings consist of planning and saving time so you have more time to be… you guessed it, productive.

Never go to bed With a Messy Room.

This is such a staple tip for me. Make sure your room is clean and clutter free in the evenings. There’s nothing worse than wanting to have a productive morning but being overwhelmed by your floordrobe. Messy room, messy mind is a saying I live by. I cannot stand clutter in my room, it literally makes me itch. Start your day off right with a clean space to get things done in.

Write a To-Do List the Night Before.

I know, so much ‘night before’ but as I said previously, a productive morning consists of planning and saving time. The obvious way to save time is to do some little bits the night before! When you really need to get a lot done, write yourself a to-do list the night before. If you want to go all out you can even list the tasks in order of importance. If you have a busy morning ahead of you, you don’t want to be confused about anything or forget something!

Practise Yoga or Meditation.

Set 10-15 minutes aside in the morning before you get ready to either meditate or practise some yoga. Both of these activities can really help your mind focus and you’ll feel much more grounded. I always find if I take 10 minutes to meditate I find productive mornings much easier. It’s kind of like coffee, it prepares you for your day!

Don’t hit Snooze.

Please don’t sigh at me, I know it’s hard. This is my downfall too. I set an alarm the night before and always tell myself that I will get up at that time. Listen, if you need the sleep then go ahead and sleep in but just make sure it’s not a habit. It’s easier to hit snooze than it is to hoist ourselves out of bed at 6 am. I promise once you’ve been doing it for 4 or  5 days, it’ll just come naturally! I actually wake up about 15 minutes before my alarm goes off now, body clocks are magical things.

Those are my top 5 tips for you to ace your productive mornings. If you’re not much of a morning person, you can read my post here on how you can become one! Remember, not every morning will go down like this but it feels great when they do!

I definitely need to use some of these tips😂 I’m not a morning person at all, it takes me 3 hours just to get myself out of bed. I think writing a list might help me as I’m quite goal orientated. Can’t wait to try some of these tips!

I have to admit mornings always have been so difficult to me. You’re right, simple things like preparing an outfit the night before can make all the difference when you’ve got the morning muddles and can’t think straight! Claire x x x
