New! Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Breathable – Review

I go through foundation quicker than water, honestly! Mainly because I can never get a spot on colour match and I’m left with foundations that never really work for me so have to get rid of them constantly.

I was kindly sent the new Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation and Concealer for review from Influenster.

Drugstore Foundations And Me…

Ugh. To tell you the truth I don’t get on with 99% of the drugstore foundations I try. It all comes down to my acne-prone skin. I’m sensitive to some of theĀ cheaperĀ ingredients and they don’t cover enough for me! I’ve had some really awful experiences with foundations from drugstore brands but I have found a few gems!

Rimmel Lasting Finish BREATHABLE

So, I’ve tried the original lasting finish and the nude version. I actually liked them both but preferred the nude as it dried down a little more and wasn’t so tacky! As I liked both before, I was pretty confident trying this one.

They also released a concealer in the same collection which I was really excited to try. I love a foundation and concealer from the same range as they tend to sit on each other really nice and let’s face it, who doesn’t love a boots 3 for 2?!

The Foundation

The Breathable Foundation claims to be a light to medium coverage. It has a breathable technology that hydrates the skin for up to 25 hours. This foundation does really claim to be long-wearing so I put it to the test and wore it for 11 hours.

It has a really nice applicator, a lot like the Clinique 2 in 1 foundation! The product is scented, so keep that in mind if you have very sensitive skin. I do like the smell of the Rimmel foundations, they’re quite fresh and light. I don’t think they have the best colour range in the world. They don’t go light enough or dark enough. I have a yellow undertone and the lightest shade they do is too dark for me. They do have a choice of pink and yellow undertones which is great, if you have a medium skin tone as those are practically the only shades they stock.

Hit or Miss?

I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. It’s a nice ‘throw it on to run errands’ foundation but I wouldn’t use this if I had somewhere else to go. It just didn’t blow me away. I’m not saying it’s bad at all, it actually has a really beautiful finish. It’s kind of a luminous matte and just looks like skin, which is lovely. It just doesn’t pack enough coverage for me, which of course is expected as it states it’s a light to medium coverage. I actually think this would be an amazing foundation for school as it

I’m not saying it’s bad at all, it actually has a really beautiful finish. It’s kind of a luminous matte and just looks like skin, which is lovely. It just doesn’t pack enough coverage for me, which of course is expected as it states it’s a light to medium coverage. I actually think this would be an amazing foundation for school as it is super easy to apply and sits nicely on the skin. Also as it’s breathable it would be great for days where you’re doing P.E or any other physical activity.

In regards to being long-wearing, I agree and disagree. It really depends on the type of skin you have. This foundation will last longer on dryer skin. I get an oily T-zone and the foundation started to break up there about 4 hours in, which isn’t long at all. Apart from that though, it didn’t move or change much throughout the 11 hours I had it on!

This for me is kind of a semi-hit. I will definitely use the foundation up when I have better skin days but it won’t be the one I reach for all the time!

The Concealer

So the concealer basically has the same claims as the foundation. It’s breathable, medium coverage and also comes with a cool applicator. It has a rounded sponge tip, it’s super soft and I actually like the way it applies. However, I’m not so keen on the product.

For some reason, I just didn’t really take to it. The concealer doesn’t come in enough shades so the lightest is actually darker than my natural skin colour. I can’t use it to highlight under my eyes and it’s too dark to spot conceal. Maybe when I have tan on I’ll give it another go.

It has a pretty luminous finish and doesn’t really set down. The concealer creases easily under the eyes so make sure you set it right away! It does, however, work nicely with the foundation.

The concealer is a miss for me unfortunately, I just couldn’t make it work for my skin!

Final Thoughts?

Go and test these two products out! They might really work for you. I’ve seen some really mixed reviews and I think the only way you’ll know if they’re worth it is trying them you. They’re super affordable and easy to get your hands on so that’s a bonus! I think the Rimmel Lasting Finish range is pretty good, to be honest, the products really do stay on a long time.

Whenever I’m sent products to review I usually do a little preview on my Instagram. You can keep up with my posts HERE!

‘Till next time!

I swear by the lasting finish as it works best for my skin but a lot of people I know aren’t a fan, I think you’re right it is one of those foundations that you need to try, there seems to be so many mixed reviews but I honestly love it for my skin, brilliant review though!!

Thanks girl! Such a mixed opinion on them but I think it’s great they’re bringing out different versions to suit everyone’s skin!
