Top 5 Skin Care Products for Acne and Break Outs

Top 5 Skin Care Products for Acne and Break Outs

I’ve struggled with acne for years now and I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun to fix my face!  Skin care products for acne/clearer skin can be hard to find. In the last 6 months I’ve found a few products that work really well, alone and together. I have combination skin although sometimes my skin is extremely dry and dehydrated so it has been difficult to find products that work well for me. This is my list of top products to help you clear your skin!

Bravura London Glycolic & Lactic Acid

Peels are all the rage at the moment! These specific acids are meant to replace your exfoliator as they remove dead skin by peeling, which is really cool! I’d never thought about using an acid as I thought it would irritate my skin more, boy was I wrong. These two peels are what have basically saved my skin. I have seen the biggest improvement with these every time I use them. The results in the first two weeks were incredible!2 Week Difference

As you can see there is a huge difference! It cleared all the texture on my face, not just the acne, as well as evened out my skin tone. I’ve noticed the peels have really been improving my acne scars as well which is great. In the beginning I used these every other night but now I just use each one once a week. I use the Ginseng Toner before the peel however I think you could just go straight in with the acid. I wrote a separate review on these products a few months back, you can read them here. I’d absolutely love to try more products from this brand as they seem to have really worked for me so far. If you’ve never tried an acid before, I’d really recommend them!

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

Sometimes, I really need something gentle on my skin. As I said before, I have really dry skin around my cheeks and forehead. This cleanser is soap free which means it won’t draw moisture out of my skin. The cleansing gel is not fragranced so it’s absolutely suitable for sensitive skin. It contains mint and lavender extracts which really help soothe my skin. If I’m honest, I haven’t seen a dramatic difference in my skin from using this but it’s just what I want when I’m having a break out. Acne can be painful and even just normal pimples can be, something that isn’t going to irritate the skin is perfect for dealing with sensitive areas. What I really love about this is the fact my skin feels really clean after using it, not all gentle cleansers make me feel like that!

Swiss Clinic Skin Renewal Kit

I have a whole review on this kit already which you can read here however I’ve used it for much longer now and wanted to mention it! Micro-needling is a big thing in salons at the moment but it really isn’t in everyone’s price range. This kit comes with a roller (the needles), a sanitizing spray for it (absolutely essential) and the skin renewal serum.

I use the skin renewal kit in between using my acid peels. This kit really helps keep breakouts at bay as well as clear up scars and remove texture. For me, the star of the show is the serum. I’d never used a serum before this on and I’d never go back now! When I use this, I notice how clear and smooth my skin is the next day! Incredible! It’s also fantastic for anti-ageing as it helps with wrinkles! I feel like micro-needling should be more talked about as it is fantastic for the skin.

Edens Semilla Vitamin E Oil with Rosehip and Jojoba Oil Blend

Oil’s are perfect for nourishing and hydrating your skin. I’ve replaced my evening moisturizer with this oil because I love it so much. When I leave it on over night, my skin feels so hydrated and soft in the morning! Vitamin E oil is great alone but this one has a rosehip and jojoba blend which are both well-known for helping breakouts and scarring. I have to say this has really helped even out my skins texture and tone as well! This oil is very soothing on the skin so it’s great if you’re having a flare up or just have dry/irritated skin. Like a few other products in this post, I have a full review of the oil here. If you don’t feel like this oil is for you, check them out still, they have TONNES of different oils, serums and essential oils!

L’oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

I’ve never loved drugstore face masks.. I just don’t feel like they’ve really ever worked for me. However, this mask has really helped my skin. It really helps draw out impurities and dry out active breakouts on my skin. It’s so affordable and has lasted me the longest time, I got this 4 months ago and am only just about to purchase another one. I’m pretty sure this retails for around £8 but Feel Unique always have offers on bringing them to around £5, bargain! I haven’t tried the other 2 masks from L’oreal but after loving this one so much, I think I’ll be giving them a go! If you have tried the others, definitely let me know how they worked for you in the comments!

I understand we all have different skin so not all of these products work for everyone but they do for me! Skin care products are always a hit or miss with me so I truly do love everything I’ve mentioned in this post! All of the products mentioned have fitted in to my skin care routine really easily too!

Let me know your favourite skin care products in the comments! I’d love to try some more.
