Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick Foundation | Review

Hey beauties!

I’ve been trying out the MUFE Ultra HD Stick foundation for a few weeks now and I thought I’d let you know my thoughts on it. I see this foundation everywhere and found it too difficult to resist purchasing it for myself! I got mine from Debenhams, as for as I know this is the only UK based shop you can purchase it, it retails for £25 and you get 12.5g of product.

Let me just start off by saying I LOVE Make Up For Ever as a brand, I think a lot of their products are really amazing. After seeing the stick foundation absolutely everywhere for months I finally caved and bought it. I got the shade Y245, I could have done with Y225 as I am paler but the one I have matches really nicely when I have fake tan on and suits me while it’s wearing off. They cater for a wide range of skin shades and tones, there are a mix between yellow and pink based foundations.

The foundation itself it super easy to apply, it glides on like silk. You only need a small amount to begin with, the foundation is a medium coverage but it is absolutely 100% full coverage if you build it up enough. I find it easiest to blend out with a brush, the brush I actually love to blend it out with is the Real Techniques Expert Face brush… which is odd because I’m not the biggest fan of that brush with a lot of other foundations but it works a dream with this one! You can use a sponge if thats what you prefer but I find that with the way this applies, it doesn’t spread the product around evenly enough for me.

I have combination skin so I don’t like anything too matte or too dewy, I adore the finish of this foundation. It is a little more dewy than I would usually go for but it has the most beautiful, radiant, satin finish I have ever seen in a base product. Usually, with something more dewy, I find it wears off quite fast and doesn’t have the longevity I like but this holds up extremely well, even in my oily areas. It doesn’t sink in to my pores or make exaggerate them, which is an added bonus.

I have tested it in flash photography and in my opinion it looks fine, some people have said different but I think that if you don’t set it you have more of a chance of flash back… That’s just how it’s worked for me. When I’m using paler shades it doesn’t particularly matter anyway as I’m already white as snow.

All in all I love everything about this foundation, some people may think £29 is a little steep but a little bit goes a long way and if I’m honest I do believe you get what you pay for when it comes to foundation. This has definitely become my new favourite, replacing my beloved Estee Lauder Double Wear!

If you are in the market for a new foundation I definitely recommend trying this one out, there is a direct link to it on Debenhams at the top of the page so you can browse!

Hope you’re all having a lovely week,

See you tomorrow with a new post.

Abbie x
