For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jade from www.curvettebrigade.com.
I’m closer to 30 than I’d care to admit, life time member of the chub rub club and have an unhealthy obsession with make up.
When the beautiful Abigail asked me to do a guest blog for her Blogtober challenge I thought what a better way to introduce myself than showing you what I’ve been loving for the past month, well that was the plan anyway.
September was a funny old month. I hardly wore make up due to holidays and ill health 🙁 so I’ve been wracking my brains and here’s what I came up with.
I shall start with an oldie but a goodie.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette.
Why I stopped using this I’ll never know! The shades in this palette are fab and it’s a good all rounder. If I went for a weekend away and I only packed this, I wouldn’t panic.
As you can tell I have a favourite and I’m so glad that 1) Kat Von D are releasing refill pans and 2) Kat Von D is available in Debenhams – Hurrah!!
Up next we have the Melt Cosmetics Rust Stack.
Oh. My. Days.
I thought nothing could top the Dark Matter Stack but here we are. These colours are INCREDIBLE and an absolute dream to blend. This is a fab grungy palette and the pans are massive.
Well, well, well. What do we have here? Muggle make up!?!
I hold my hands up and admit I’m a make up snob, 100% so I was gobsmacked when I found myself reaching for the Maybelline Fit Me concealer more and more.
Coverage is brilliant, hardly creases and covers my bags for life.
Especially applied with the Real Techniques Bold Metal 300 Tapered Blush Brush. Not its intended use but I find it super soft and blends everything out perfectly and because it’s tapered I can get right under my eye.
It couldn’t be a favourites without mentioning the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara.
Do you know what I’ll say it.
This is my holy grail mascara. I don’t know where the voodoo resides – brush or formula but my lashes look amazing. And it’s blacker than my soul.
Speaking of blacker than black, the Shu Uemura Calligraph:Ink eyeliner. The best eyeliner I’ve tried. The felt tip brush does all the work for you and is SO black. So so black.
I’ve been searching for a dusty rose/brown/taupe type blush for a while so I was so happy when I found Sleeks Antique blush. I reach for this all the time and I think it’s going to be a staple for Autumn (God I nearly put Fall!)
Finally, I know it’s not make up, I have to give a mention to the L’Oréal Elvive Fibrology range, especially the dry shampoo.
I’ve been a Batiste girl for years but never again. My hair feels clean without the powdery build up, white residue and synthetic smell.
So that’s it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my September favourites and if you want to read more of my thoughts and reviews, stop by my Instagram – @curvettebrigade.
